Li-HEAP Winter 2021 Ends

After close of business on April 30, 2021, we will no longer be taking applications for the Li-HEAP Winter Program. Please have all documents submitted by that time, including:

1. A completed application

2. Both your electric bill and gas bill

3. Social Security numbers for all household members

4. Proof of Identification

5. Proof of income for the previous month

6. Other verification as requested

USDA COMMODITIES SCHEDULE UPDATE

Our USDA Commodities Distribution scheduled for Tuesday, February 16 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 23 due to inclement weather forecasted for early next week. The safety of our volunteers and clients is most important to us.

In the meantime, if you are in need of food, you can find the nearest pantry through River Valley Regional Food Bank‘s Pantry Locator: https://www.rvrfoodbank.org/get-help/pantry-locator/.

Once again, February’s distribution will take place on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 7:30 am-10:30 am (or until supplies are depleted) in the parking lot of C-SCDC.

Please do not arrive in the parking lot before 7:00 am, as we do not want you to accidentally run out of gas.

Family Services Adds Two New Programs

Marc Baker, Executive Director of Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council, Inc. announced today that funds will be available to assist residents of Fort Smith who have been directly affected by the COVID-19 virus. These funds are CDBG- CV1 funds to Prevent, Prepare, and Respond to the COVID-19 Pandemic.  If you are a resident of Fort Smith, have been affected by COVID-19, and meet the income guidelines, you may apply for assistance.  You must supply both proof of income and proof that you have been directly affected by the virus. Proof that you were affected can be provided through unemployment claims history documentation, proof you have been tested or were quarantined, and/or a letter from your employer on company letterhead. Other documentation may be required as well.

Assistance being offered to qualifying individuals:

Fort Smith Residents Mortgage/Rental Assistance- up to $1000.00 over the course of two consecutive months. This assistance is first come first serve until funds are depleted.

Fort Smith’s Children’s Clothing Lottery- 125 K-12 children by lottery will be awarded a $480.00 winter clothing assistance shopping spree with a C-SCDC staff member or volunteer  (Parents/Guardians must be present).

Eligibility for CDBG-CV1 assistance is determined by the following income guidelines (you must provide the most recent 4 weeks proof of income for all adults and children receiving income in the home):

            2 persons                                              $ 34,800.00

            3 persons                                              $ 39,150.00

            4 persons                                              $ 43,450.00

            5 persons                                              $ 46,950.00

            6 persons                                              $ 50,450.00

            8 persons                                             $ 57,400.00

Applicants must furnishsocial security numbers for all household members, proof of identification and proof of income for the most recent month.  This is the basic information, but once the application is received other verification may be requested.  With the new COVID-19 requirements, appointments will not be scheduled at this time. To obtain an application you can find one on our website https://casite-1414874.cloudaccess.net/ under the Family Services tab or you may call Dana at 479-785-2303 ext. 116 to request one to be mailed or e-mailed to you. If you call and get voicemail please leave your full name, number, and address including zip code. You may also e-mail [email protected] with the same information to request an application. 

Please keep your messages short and precise to assist in a timely return call. Please do not leave duplicate messages. This will only lengthen the time you will receive your return call.

When turning in your application, please have the application completed fully and all documents and basic information attached to assist in faster processing times. You may turn in your application at our drop box at 1617 S. Zero by the right side door, attn. Dana, or you may fax it to 479-709-9078, attn. Dana. If more information is needed, we will contact you by the phone number(s) provided on your application. Once applications are received, we will make a minimum of two attempts to call the phone number(s) provided to gather any remaining documentation needed. It is your responsibility to keep your contact information up to date with C-SCDC. After a minimum of two failed attempts have been made C-SCDC reserves the right to deny your application. Further, if your child’s number is chosen for the Children’s Clothing Lottery, the same two times to contact rule applies as well.

USDA Commodities Schedule Change

Our USDA Commodities Distribution time is changing! ⌚️📆

Effective today, we will distribute commodities ONCE a month on the third Tuesday of each month. This means our next distribution will be Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 7:30-10:30 a.m., or while supplies last.

Delta Dental Gifts Us $30,000

A huge thank you to Delta Dental of Arkansas. They have gifted us the incredible ability to change lives through a $30,000 grant for dentures (full set & partials) for 50-60 patients of low income! Not only will these new dentures increase the confidence of our patients, but allow them to be able to eat healthy, nutritious food which will benefit their overall health. Thank you again, Delta Dental!

LI-HEAP WINTER 2021

Marc Baker, Executive Director of Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council, Inc. announced today that funds will be available to assist residents of Crawford and Sebastian counties with their heating bills beginning Monday, January 11, 2021.  If you are a resident of Crawford or Sebastian Counties and meet the income guidelines, you may apply for assistance.  You must supply both utility bills, unless you are total electric.

Eligibility for summer utility assistance is determined by the amount of income a family receives.  To be eligible, the following income guidelines apply:

     Household Size                  Monthly Income

     1 person                         $ 1,805.00

     2 persons                        $ 2,360.00

     3 persons                        $ 2,915.00

     4 persons                        $ 3,471.00

     5 persons                        $ 4,026.00

     6 persons                        $ 4,581.00

     7 persons                        $ 4,955.00

     8 persons                        $ 5,515.00

For each additional family member above 8 persons, add $560.00.  These income amounts are slightly higher than last year, which allows more families to receive benefits.

Applicants must furnish both utility bills, unless you are total electric, social security numbers for all household members, proof of identification and proof of income for the previous month.  This is the basic information, but once the interview is conducted other verification may be requested.  With the new COVID-19 requirements, appointments will not be scheduled at this time.  The interviews will be conducted by phone so you must supply a phone where you can be reached.

You may request an application by e-mail, [email protected], and phone, 479-785-2303 extension 100, 102, and 103.  Please do NOT leave a request on each extension, chose ONE and leave your name and address then an application packet will be mailed to you.  We do not need a reason why you are calling for an application, we know that you are in need if you are requesting an application.  So, please keep your messages short and precise.

When you receive the application, please complete the application, supply the basic documentation listed above, and drop of at 1617 S. Zero in the drop box, or you may fax it to 479-709-9078 or scan it and e-mail it to [email protected]. The application must be completely filled out and signed.  If more information is needed we will contact you by mail with a written request for the information.

Dental Hygiene Clinc

Our Hygiene Clinic will be starting January 19. This clinic is for anyone 17 and up with no dental coverage who is wanting a teeth cleaning! Clinic days will be on Tuesdays starting January 19 until April 20th. Call our office at 479-782-6021 with any questions or to set up an appointment. Spots are going fast.
