USDA COMMODITY DISTRIBUTION
The Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council’s Community Food Pantry distributes USDA commodities the third Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:30 a.m. (or until supplies are depleted) in the parking lot of the River Valley Regional Food Bank location at 1617 South Zero Street in Fort Smith.
Because USDA commodities are federally regulated, the food pantry and food bank must abide by federal income guidelines. Clients must register to receive commodities by filling out an application. The application can be picked up and completed at the River Valley Regional Food Bank, or can found on the food bank’s website. Upon registration, each client will be given a scannable ID card, which must be provided to food bank staff prior to receiving food.
Should the pantry need to postpone, cancel, or modify the distribution schedule due to inclement weather storms or freezing temperatures, the River Valley Regional Food Bank will inform the public via the food bank’s social media and on the digital marquee sign facing Zero Street.
The commodities the food bank receives and distributes are available to residents of Sebastian County only. Residents in other counties may contact their local USDA pantry, or call the food bank at (479) 785-0582 for assistance.
If you are in need of food ASAP, please check River Valley Regional Food Bank's Pantry Locator.
