Children’s Clothing Program Assists Local Family

The Galdamez Family now has one less thing to worry about as the kids enter the school year! By applying for our Children's Clothing Program, they were able to receive $960 in clothing provided by C-SCDC's Family Services, The City of Fort Smith, and the Community Development Block Grant. -Must be a resident of Ft Smith

-Must have proof of COVID such as pandemic assistance on unemployment at any point in time, positive COVID test of someone who lives in the home, or a letter on letterhead from a current or former employer stating job loss due to COVID or hours greatly reduced

-Must have children in K-12

SUMMER LI-HEAP 2021

IMPORTANT

CSCDC's Summer Utility Program has closed for the season. We will reopen November 1st. If you turned in your application piror to 4:00 pm., Thursday, September 30th your application will be processed.

 

Marc Baker, Executive Director of Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council, Inc. announced today that funds will be available to assist residents of Crawford and Sebastian counties with their cooling bills beginning Monday, July 26, 2021.  If you are a resident of Crawford or Sebastian Counties and meet the income guidelines, you may apply for assistance.  You must supply both utility bills, unless you are total electric.

Eligibility for summer utility assistance is determined by the amount of income a family receives.  To be eligible, the following income guidelines apply:

     Household Size                  Monthly Income

     1 person                         $ 1,805.00

     2 persons                        $ 2,360.00

     3 persons                        $ 2,915.00

     4 persons                        $ 3,471.00

     5 persons                        $ 4,026.00

     6 persons                        $ 4,581.00

     7 persons                        $ 4,955.00

     8 persons                        $ 5,515.00

For each additional family member above 8 persons, add $560.00.  These income amounts are slightly higher than last year, which allows more families to receive benefits.

Applicants must furnish both utility bills, unless you are total electric, social security numbers for all household members, proof of identification and proof of income for the previous month for all household members 18 years and over.  This is the basic information, but once the interview is conducted, other documentation may be requested. If you need additional information, you may call 479-785-2303 extension 100 beginning Monday, July 26, 2021.  Clients must make an appointment in person at 1617 S. Zero, Fort Smith, AR. 

Due to COVID-19, clients are required to wear a mask at all times while in the building. Only 1 member per household will be allowed inside the building (children are prohibited inside the building at this time, as to help stop the spread of COVID-19).

Hiring Li-HEAP/Child Care Food Program Director

Full Job Description

The Child Care Food Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation and supervision of the Child Care home/center providers who elect to participate in the USDA Child Care Food Program. The Child Care Food Program Director provides training and technical assistance in developing Child Care homes/centers for participation in the USDA Child Care Food Program. The Child Care Food Program Director also inspects homes/centers once per quarter and does require some day traveling. The LiHEAP (Utility Assistance) Director is responsible for all of the financial side of LiHEAP, which consists of preparing budgets, writing grants, and requesting funds that service Li-HEAP. The LiHEAP Director includes supervision of the HEAP Intake Coordinators, HEAP Coordinator, and Data Entry Clerk.

Minimum Skills Required:

Supervisory Skills

Proficient in Excel (Spreadsheets) and Word

Proficient in Communication Skills

NeighborWorks Summertime Cookout

We are having a cookout on Friday, June 11th 11:00 am-2:00 pm in our parking lot to celebrate NeighborWorks Week! All of our programs will be there so that you can learn all about what we do within our community, meet our staff, and apply on the spot. There will be free hotdogs, drinks, and goodie bags for everyone and we will also be giving away fans courtesy of Li-HEAP. Be sure to come out and enjoy a free meal with us!

Marc Baker, Executive Director of Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council, Inc. announced today that funds will be available to assist approximately 63 residents of Crawford and Sebastian counties with their past-due heating bills beginning Monday, May 17, 2021.  If you are a resident of Crawford or Sebastian Counties, meet the income guidelines AND have not received help this past winter, you may apply for assistance.  You must supply both utility bills, unless you are total electric.

Applicants must furnish both utility bills, unless you are total electric, social security numbers for all household members, proof of identification and proof of income for the month of April 2021.  Income documentation will be proof of unemployment or no unemployment, social security or SSI award letter, child support or proof of no child support and ALL check stubs for the month of April 2021.  A phone number MUST be on the application.  ONLY complete applications and documentation will be accepted. 

Application packets will be available for pick-up at 1617 S. Zero Fort Smith, AR on May 17, 2020 after 8:00 a.m.  Only one application per person and the doors will be locked after the first 80 have picked up an application. 

Please complete the application, supply ALL the documentation listed above, and drop of at 1617 S. Zero in the drop box, or you may fax it to 479-709-9078.  If the application is not completely filled out, signed and documentation included, the application will NOT be accepted.  If your past due is more than $500.00 you will required to make an 18 month (COVID) DPA with the utility company and proved proof of the DPA within TWO (2) days of being contacted by the worker.  Since the funding is so small, there will NOT be any applications e-mailed or accepted by e-mail.

There will also be free Housing Counseling from one of our HUD Certified Counselors for anyone interested in applying for our program. We can help you become a homeowner of a house YOU help build and you can be paying a monthly mortgage that’s less than a lot of rentals!
